Patricia Beatrice Bartell Nugent aka Patty Bee, a native of Crowley, was born 1927, died 2005 of lung cancer. She was my mother and an amazing woman! My father died early in their marriage and she became a single mother of three very young children.
She was an active volunteer in the City of Crowley in many organizations. She was instrumental in starting recycling efforts in Crowley, played the organ at the Presbyterian church and for a number of years ran a family furniture business. With double major in History and English and a Master’s degree in Government, she also taught English and History at Crowley High and in Iota.
