“Wherever you go, go with all your heart.” – Confucius

Our culture teaches and encourages us to lead with our minds. Recent events might be pushing us to lead with our fears. This brief practice not only offers a bit of respite from the news cycle and ruminative thought, it also reminds us to stay connected to our hearts.

Place your hand on your heart.
Become aware of your body breathing on your behalf.
Take 5 mindful breaths*
Say to yourself, “I am here”
Imagine yourself in the company of friends, and friends-of-friends, near and far all doing the same.

*A “mindful breath” is one where you are giving your whole attention to your breath, without trying to change it, without judging it… watching your breath just as it is.
